Darek's Story — How I Lost Trust in a Clinic in Izmir

All I wanted was to regain my confidence and finally have a healthy smile. Instead I encountered opaque pricing, an invalid certificate and a violation of my privacy.

I trusted them — and I deeply regret it

My name is Darek and all I wanted was to regain my confidence and finally have a healthy, beautiful smile. I trusted Hollywood Dental in Izmir — and today I deeply regret ever setting foot in that clinic.

Promises during the online consultation

After an online consultation and sending them a 3D X-ray, I was assured that my case had already been reviewed by their "team of doctors". They promised 12 implants and zirconia crowns for €5,600. A clinic representative contacted me every week, reassuring me, persuading me and encouraging me to visit.

I genuinely believed I was in good hands. Now I know I was simply a source of income.

Arrival — and an immediate change of terms

When I arrived, everything changed immediately. After a further X-ray they suddenly demanded €6,950 for just 8 implants. No explanation, no justification. Just pressure.

⚠️ Warning: I was told they use Medigma implants, but I later found out they also use cheaper Turkish implants — something nobody had thought to mention.

Questions without answers

I asked about the bone graft — what material it was and where it had been sourced. The coordinator replied: "Why does that concern you?"

That was the moment I realised something was wrong. A patient has every right to know what materials are being placed in their body.

An invalid certificate

I asked for my medical records — I was told they didn't have them. The coordinator sent me certificate ST-2799, which — after checking and receiving a response dated 16/04/2026 from the Turkish Ministry of Health — turned out to have been invalid since 05/12/2025. Despite this, she insisted everything was in order legally.

Withdrawal and silence

On 04/10/2026 I informed the clinic of my withdrawal from further treatment. I demanded full medical documentation and a description of the procedures carried out. I received absolutely nothing.

The staff who had previously sent me weekly messages suddenly vanished. Zero accountability, zero response, zero respect.

A privacy violation — a call from Austria

The worst moment was a call from an Austrian number. The caller knew my home address — an address the clinic had shared without my consent. This person attempted to pressure me into removing negative reviews. That crossed every line.

⚠️ GDPR violation: Sharing a patient's personal data (home address) with third parties without consent is a serious breach of data protection law.

Why I am sharing this

All conversations are saved on WhatsApp. I am sharing my story because people deserve to know who they are entrusting with their health, their money and their smile. This is my real experience — painful, stressful and still unresolved.

"All the situations described are documented in messages, which confirms their authenticity."

💡 What this story teaches us

  • Always demand written confirmation of the price and scope of treatment before travelling
  • You have the right to know what materials will be placed in your body — ask and insist on answers
  • Check the clinic's certificates in official registers before making a decision
  • Demand your full medical records — it's your right, not a favour from the clinic
  • Any attempt to pressure you into removing reviews is unlawful
  • Sharing your personal data without consent is a GDPR violation — you can report it
